Broadband Arts Initiative

The Australia Council for the Arts is encouraging artists to explore and demonstrate the potential of the National Broadband Network (NBN), by announcing funding for innovative projects that are enabled by it.

The NBN has the potential to change the way Australians create, access and consume arts and culture and this grant aims to assist the arts sector in building the skills needed to make the most of this opportunity.

Grants of up to $100,000 will be awarded to projects that complement the deployment of high-capacity broadband and are dependent on broadband infrastructure. The project should result in an outstanding art outcome for the public before June 2013.

Expressions of interest are due by 15 February and funded projects will be starting from 1 May 2012.
