CAL's Cultural Fund
CAL has announced that Australian creators have until Friday 22 May to apply for the next round of funding from CAL’s Cultural Fund.
The Fund supports a wide variety of research, education and cultural development projects that enhance the economic and creative climate for Australian creators.
This year, the Fund will give priority to projects which support innovation in the Australian creative industries and develop local and foreign markets for Australian works.
Australian creators who have appropriate projects commencing after 1 July 2009 are encouraged to apply for grants. Future rounds of funding will occur quarterly.
Since 1995, CAL has allocated over $5 million to its Cultural Fund. Past recipients have included authors, publishers, artists and arts administrators.
Brian Johns, CAL Chair, said: “It’s important that we continue to provide Australian creators with the appropriate resources to develop their work locally and the means to bring it to the international stage. The Cultural Fund is CAL’s way of contributing to and maintaining Australia’s dynamic creative community.”
