Copyright, Resale Royalties and Cultural Funding

Supanova Pop Culture Expo, Black Mermaid Productions and the CAL Cultural Fund have announced a series of professional development seminars for comic creators around the country on copyright, resale royalties and cultural funding.

The seminars, to be held in Melbourne and Brisbane in April and Sydney and Perth in June, will be presented by CAL’s Cultural Fund Manager, Zoë Rodriguez. She’ll be giving an introduction to the artists’ resale royalty scheme, explaining how it works and how artists benefit from it. Zoë will also be talking about CAL’s Cultural Fund and Creative Industries Career Fund, which now allocate over $2 million per year to support Australia’s creators.

The seminar series is aimed at educating comic artists about creating additional income steams from their creative work so that they can spend more time working on their comics and graphic novels. It also aims to provide information about how artists can fund their professional development.

For further information, refer to the seminar brochure.
