Do artists get paid?

In late 2010, Australia Council for the Arts published an economic study of professional artists in Australia. Do you really expect to get paid? by Professor David Throsby was the fifth instalment in a series of studies commissioned by the Australia Council.

The study is based on interviews of over 1,000 practising professional artists and analyses the artist population of Australia, including training and education, career progression, income, professional practice issues and longer term trends.
