Fleurieu Art Prize shortlist announced
The shortlist of the 2011 South Australian Fleurieu Art Prize has been announced and the exhibition of all finalists in all categories opened on 4 November. This year the Fleurieu Art Prize attracted more than 1,000 entries for its premiere landscape category and world's richest prize of $50,000. The main prize of $50,000 is for a painting of any landscape from around the world and is accompanied by four other prizes of $10,000 each including a Youth Scholarship for artists aged 16-27 years.
Finalists in all competition categories – The Fleurieu Landscape Prize, Fleurieu Youth Scholarship, Fleurieu Vistas Prize, Fleurieu Water Prize and the Fleurieu Art of Food & Wine Prize – will be exhibited in McLaren Vale and the Fleurieu Peninsula including at Chapel Hill, Fox Creek and Wirra Wirra wineries.

The judges for all categories of the Fleurieu Art Prize 2011 are Janet Laurence (Artist), Nick Mitzevich (Director, Art Gallery of South Australia) and Ted Snell (Arts Educator, Artist, Chair of the Visual Arts Board of the Australia Council for the Arts).
The winners are to be announced this Saturday 12 November at a Gala Awards dinner at Hardys Winery. The exhibition is on show in South Australia until 5 December. For more information, please visit the Fleurieu Art Prize website.
