Freedman Foundation Travelling Scholarship for emerging artists
Every year, the National Association for the Visual Arts (NAVA) awards up to four $5,000 scholarships to emerging artists. The Freedman Foundation Travelling Scholarship for emerging artists provides support towards travel (for educational purposes) and/or tuition fees for young people building a career in the visual arts.
Applications for 2011 close on Sunday 5 June.
Note that the scholarship is not intended to provide assistance towards the production of art works, including the purchase of materials, studio rental etc. Applications must be prepared and submitted by the artist intending to undertake the travel.
Applicants must be 30 years of age or under and should have practiced as a professional artist for less than 5 years.
