Sydney Story Factory seeking illustrators and photographers
Officially launched at Sydney Writers’ Festival last month and supported by CAL’s Cultural Fund, Sydney Story Factory seeks to encourage children to develop their love of words.
The Factory is looking for volunteer illustrators and photographers to assist with a few things they have coming up in June.
The first is a pop-up shop and tutoring centre that they’ll be running from 13 June to 26 June in The Rocks. They are expecting groups of primary school children to come along for two-hour workshops, where they will work together to write stories about a Martian living in Sydney. The volunteer illustrators will be required to illustrate the children’s stories during the workshops so that the children will be able to leave with his or her bound and illustrated book.
The second project requires illustrators for a program at Mount Carmel. Illustrators here will also be required to turn the children’s stories into pictures, but it doesn’t have to be done on the spot.
Lastly, the Factory is holding a volunteer picnic at Redfern Park this Sunday 5 June, for which they need a photographer.
