Excluded Works

Some works aren't covered by some of our licences.

The following works are excluded from some of our 'voluntary' licences: licences that we offer as agent for our members. These exclusions do not apply to educational institutions and government departments and agencies covered by statutory licences.

Many of our foreign rights exchange agreements specifically exclude the following classes of works:

  • sheet music
  • test and exam papers
  • maps (where not part of a text work)
  • liturgical services.
Any publication containing a notice expressly prohibiting reproduction under a licence from a collective rights management organisation.
