New role for Jim Alexander General Manager Business Services Jim Alexander has been named acting Chief Executive of Copyright Agency Limited. Jim joined CAL in May 2006, responsible for the development and management of both statutory and voluntary licences and the strategic development of new licensing products and services. Jim previously held executive roles at AMR Interactive and ACNielsen as well as academic appointments at both Sydney and Macquarie Universities and in the public sector. Following a long association with CAL designing and managing the first surveys used in the education sector to measure copying under the statutory licence, Jim has provided consultancy services on a range of business, research and data analysis issues. After taking a BA (Hons) degree from Sydney University, lectured in Education at Sydney Teachers' College then Macquarie University. His government work began as head of a social research & evaluation division in the Department of Community Services, a Policy Analyst in the Department of Health and then Policy Advisor to the Deputy Premier. Jim joined ACNielsen to head up the social and political research division, where he first worked with CAL and was subsequently appointed CEO Research for ACNielsen Australia then Managing Director, International Research. Moving to AMRInteractive as CEO Research, Jim worked to develop new systems and approaches for the online environment. He is a Fellow of the Market Research Society of Australia, a Qualified Practicing Market Researcher and a member of the European Society for Opinion and Market Research.
