CAL says business as usual, only better With distribution payments to members expected to be over $60m this financial year, Copyright Agency Limited (CAL) has announced a number of organisational changes to help it achieve its future objectives. “These positive changes will allow CAL to focus on being even better at delivering services to our members and customers,” said CAL 's Chief Executive Officer Michael Fraser. Mr Fraser said that as CAL forms part of Australia 's dynamic knowledge economy, the business needs to change in order to keep pace with the external environment. “These changes signal CAL 's commitment to meeting its goals,” said Mr Fraser. “The refocus will allow CAL to achieve greater operational efficiency, improve services for members and strengthen relationships with customers.” Streamlining our operations to make them more efficient will remain one of CAL 's key priorities. “ CAL 's role as an agent is to be efficient and that means becoming more innovative and faster in everything we do. The refocus will allow us to continue our momentum to build the systems that will support new digital business processes,” said Michael Fraser. A key element of the refocus is the establishment of a dedicated Business Services division, which will bring together resources and activities for CAL 's rights management for customers. “The new Business Services division means we can concentrate our efforts with a specific team dedicated to members and a team for customers,” said Mr Fraser. “This will enable us to provide even greater levels of service to both through increased opportunities for contact and consultation to develop partnerships.” CAL 's Chair Brian Johns said the changes will position CAL for the challenging years ahead. “The Board look to the new CAL structure to provide the support needed to not only maintain the current business, but build on the great work it is already doing with regard to new digital business opportunities and tailored commercial licences,” said Brian Johns. Mr Fraser said that growing CAL 's business through the development of targeted new products and services is a vital part of CAL 's strategy. “In other words, it's business as usual for CAL – only better," said Michael Fraser.
