 Jim Alexander appointed CAL CEO

Copyright Agency Limited's (CAL's) board today officially appointed Jim Alexander as Chief Executive of CAL.

The announcement follows the resignation of Michael Fraser, who stepped down last week as CEO to start up his own consultancy.

Jim joined CAL in May 2006 as General Manager Business Services, responsible for the development and management of copyright licences.

CAL Chair Brian Johns said he is pleased Jim has entered into a 12 month contract for the CEO role in one of CAL's most challenging years.

“This year CAL plans to implement a number of key digital business initiatives and also deliver improved services including a faster turnaround between copyright payments,” Brian Johns said.

“We look forward to working with Jim as we lead CAL into a new era.”

Jim previously held executive roles at AMR Interactive and ACNielsen as well as academic appointments at both Sydney and Macquarie Universities and in the public sector.

Following a long association with CAL designing and managing the first surveys used in the education sector to measure copying under the statutory licence, Jim has provided consultancy services on a range of business, research and data analysis issues.
