Shortlist for 2011 Deadly Awards

The Deadly Awards are the national Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander music, sport, entertainment and community awards, recognising the contribution of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders to their community and to Australian society.
On 18 July, Vibe Australia announced the shortlist for 2011 awards at a ceremony at the Sydney Opera House. The Copyright Agency congratulates the members listed below, who were shortlisted for the award for Outstanding Achievement in Literature.
- Kim Scott, That Deadman Dance (Picador)
- Brenton E McKenna, Ubby’s Underdogs (Magabala Books)
- Anita Heiss, Paris Dreaming (Bantam)
- Sally Morgan, Charlie Burr and the Three Stolen Dollars (Little Hare)
The winners of this year’s Deadly Awards will be announced at an event at the Sydney Opera House on Tuesday 27 September.
