Anna Yen
Anna Yen will be using Career Funding to attend workshops run by multimedia Artist George Pinn, which explore interactive performance via motion tracking technology.  These workshops will culminate in Electric Dragon which will be performed in Federation Square Melbourne as part of the Chinese New Year creative program.

Visual Artist Phuong Ngo will use Career funding to take up the invitation of a Mentorship and cultural exchange at La Maison Folie, Belgium.   La Maison supports practices that test the conventions of participatory performance which fits well with Phuong’s own practice exploring the Vietnamese refugee narrative through live art, installation, video art, photography and performance.

Lisa Coleman $2,500 Lisa Coleman, independent writer, photographer and historian will be using the Career Fund to take up a prestigious one month residency at the Harry Ransom Center, one of the biggest literary and photographic archives in the USA.

Bianca Beetson $1,300 Visual Artist Bianca Beetson has been awarded the Gushul Indigenous Artist in Residence and will be using the Career Fund to travel to Lethbridge University, Alberta Canada to undertake this unique opportunity of cultural exchange.

Lachlan Philpott $2,500 Playwright Lachlan Philpott will be travelling to Edinburgh to take part in a two week development of his new play Walter at The Traverse Theatre.
Vanessa Wright $1,500 Vanessa Wright will be one of 45 emerging festival managers from around the world undertaking an intensive 7 day workshop at the Atelier for Young Festivals Managers in Poland.
Kynan Tan $1,500 Visual Artist Kynan Tan will be using funding from the Career Fund to undertake a 3 month residency at Symbiotica, a world-renowned hybrid arts/science facility based at the University of Western Australia.

John Neeson $2,500 Visual Artist John Neeson is using funding from the Career Fund to travel to New York where he will participate in a 2 month residency with Point B, where their  mission is “facilitating situations of discovery.”

Dr Kathryn Heyman $2,500 Dr Kathryn Heyman will be using funding from the Career Fund to attend workshops for established midlist writers led by Jill Dawson, at Black House, in Ely England.
Laura Castagnini $2,000 Laura Castagnini will be using funding from the Career Fund to participate in a one-month, structured residency with Live Art Development Agency and a two-day workshop with CUNTemporary in London.

Antonia Hayes $1,500 Antonia will be strengthening her skills in festival directing and programming by undertaking a mentorship with the Australia and NZ Literature and Arts Festival, in London in May 2014.
Laura Hindmarsh $1,700 Visual Artist Laura Hindmarsh will travel to London to undertake a 6 week structured mentorship with Sally Golding at no.w.here, where she will be developing technical skills and learning how to develop and present live film performances.
Samuel Watson $1,000 Samuel will be the only Indigenous Australian attending 24 Medellin, in Colombia. Samuel will be working alongside other indigenous writers at the ‘Celebration of the Earth with Native Nations’ festival.
Sandra Parker $2,500 Sandra will undertake intensive training in installation and video at the International Centre of Photography (ICP) in New York while undertaking a mentorship with US installation artist Maya Ciarrocchi.
Areej Nur $2,000 Areej will be attending the Allied Media Conference, focussing on access to technology and redefining technology’s role in media making. Areej will be attending workshops along with a week-long mentorship.
Caroline Baum $1,000 Caroline will be attending a structured residency at a writing retreat directed by novelist Charlotte Wood.
Camille Serisier $790 Visual Artist Camille Serisier will be participating in two professional photography courses at the Brisbane College of Photography and Art to gain new skills to extend her contemporary visual arts practice.

Emily Stewart $1,500 Emily will be experiencing social media production whilst strengthening her skills as a creative freelance editor by attending the International Independent Publishing Alliance’s conference in Cape Town in September 2014.
Laura Carthew $1,500 Artist Laura Carthew will be undertaking a three-month structured mentorship in Japan and South Korea, with established South Korean visual artist Yeondoo Jung. Laura will be developing her skills in filmmaking, photography and installation.
Rafaella McDonald $1,000 Rafaella will be attending the Handweavers Guild in America and will receive mentoring by Seth Bogart, developing technical skills and creative solutions that bring together traditional and interdisciplinary approaches to art practice.

Jacqueline Gribbin and Sean Smith $3,000 Professional printmakers Jacqueline Gribbin and Sean Smith will be attending the conference and workshops at the 2nd International Mokuhanga Conference in Tokyo and returning to the remote communities of Northern Territory, Western Australia and Victoria to share their knowledge.
Julie Donaldson $2,000 Julie will attend the 16th National Museum Publishing Seminar (NMPS) in Boston 12‒14 June 2014, the only program of its type in the world bringing together professionals who publish within museums and similar institutions.
Raffaele Caputo $1,250 Raffaele who has over 25 years’ experience as an author-editor will move towards becoming a publisher by undertaking a three-day course to create eBooks for Kindle and other eReaders using InDesign.
Alexi Keywan $1,500 Visual Artist Alexi Keywan will be developing technical skills not yet available in Australia at the photogravure workshop at Crown Point Press in San Francisco, USA. Alexi will be pushing the traditional boundaries of this technique, demonstrating its legitimacy within the practice of intaglio printmaking.
