Reconciliation Action Plan

We acknowledge the Custodians of this land and their Elders past and present. We acknowledge and respect their unbroken connections to the land upon which we all live and work.

We recognise and respect the contribution that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples make to our nation through their artistic and cultural expression, and the working relationships that we have with many creators through our work at the Copyright Agency.

The Copyright Agency’s vision for reconciliation is to maintain and grow our role as trusted allies and supporters in protecting and promoting First Nations cultures, creators and creative institutions.

We do this through our core work – licensing words, artworks and images, supporting the ethical use of content, and delivering income to creators through copyright payments and the artists’ resale royalty scheme.

Since launching our first Reconciliation Action Plan in 2015, our commitment to reconciliation has continued to evolve and deepen across all areas of our organisation. Our latest Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (2026-2027) builds on this journey, focusing on strengthening relationships, deepening cultural understanding, and creating greater opportunities for First Nations creators and communities. It reflects our ongoing commitment to listening, learning and working in partnership to deliver meaningful, long-term impact.
