Streem enters into Content Licensing Agreement with the Copyright Agency

September 6, 2017

Streem, Australia’s first real-time media intelligence provider, has entered into a content licensing agreement with the Copyright Agency, acting on behalf of Australia’s market-leading publishers.

Building on Streem’s existing data agreements, the new content licensing agreement covers news and information across publishers including News Corp, Fairfax Media, Bauer Media, WAN, Pacific Magazines and more.

Formally launching its full-service media monitoring platform in early 2017, and already supporting some of Australia’s largest corporate and government organisations, Streem delivers Print, Online, TV, Radio and Social media intelligence within minutes of publication, post or broadcast. With the formation of a content licensing agreement with the Copyright Agency, Streem will deliver enhanced revenues back to Australia’s content creators.

“We’re pleased to have partnered with the Copyright Agency in broadening the market for customers seeking media monitoring services,” says Elgar Welch, CEO of Streem.

“Media Intelligence is an exciting sector and Streem’s focus is to bring a bold, new service to customers seeking speed, accuracy and reliability from their media monitoring. We look forward to delivering customers a comprehensive and credible choice and delivering revenue growth for content creators.”

Copyright Agency’s Director of Commercial Licensing, Guy Johnson, says, “We’re excited to be partnering with the newest entrant in media monitoring in this dynamic space.

“The copyright ecosystem ensures payments are returned to our publisher – and journalist – members when their cutting-edge works are used and re-used. It’s a win-win for businesses who rely on credible, timely content to maintain their competitive edge and the creators of that content who want to keep delivering accurate and meaningful information.”
