• House of Lords report warns of dangers of unpaid use of content for AI

The report, from the Communications and Digital Committee, entitled AI, copyright and the creative industries (pdf here) includes the following recommendations:

• Rule out a new commercial text and data mining exception with an opt-out model
• Make transparency about AI training data a statutory obligation
• Create the conditions for a fair and inclusive UK licensing market

The Committee issued a statement accompanying the report, headed UK creative industries face a clear and present danger from generative AI.
