The Cultural Fund will NOT support the following projects through our grants for individuals:
Overall projects
- Projects aimed at performing arts, music or dance audiences
- General or project-based research trips
- Participation in writers’ festivals, or symposia
- Attendance at events or conferences for networking or promotional purposes
Writers
- Self-publishing costs (where the author makes a financial contribution to the book’s editing, production, printing, publishing, marketing and distribution costs)
- Costs associated with book production and publishing costs
- Editors’, mentors’, and dramaturges’ fees
- Researchers’ fees
Visual Artists
- Gallery tours
- Costs associated with producing exhibitions and performances
- Curatorial fees
- Researchers’ fees
Travel grants
- To attend launches, book promotions, conferences, exhibition openings, symposia, promotional tours
Academics
- Work that is part of academic study
- Participation in academic conferences
- Career development that is aligned with academic advancement and study
