Darwin Arts Festival will be bursting with countless art, music, theatre, dance events and everything inbetween this August. It’s a magical time to visit the Top End in the tropical winter.
Darwin Festival kicks off with a huge opening night concert extravaganza. This free, open-air event will see The Amphitheatre at George Brown Darwin Botanic Gardens transformed into a meeting place of dance, song and ritual with Buŋgul; a celebration of the music and culture of Gurrumul and the people of North East Arnhem Land.
This year’s vibrant lineup also includes performances by Hannah Gadsby, Miiesha, Darwin Theatre Company, Sydney Dance Company and many more. The Aboriginal Art fair is also a noteable highlight.
