Association of Corporate Counsel in partnership with Copyright Agency

March 30, 2022

Association of Corporate Counsel Australia (ACC) sees copyright compliance as a key legal requirement, and understands that it is critical for in-house counsel to ensure it is being applied appropriately within their organisations. ACC Australia and Copyright Agency have announced a partnership to promote good copyright governance in the Australian corporate sector.

Copyright Agency supports businesses in reusing third-party copyright material legally, offering licensing solutions for text and images that are tailored to each organisation’s specific needs.

Copyright Agency CEO Josephine Johnston says: “We are pleased to partner with ACC Australia to promote awareness of copyright. The ability to access and share quality information is critical in the fast-paced world of business today and our licences take care of the compliance for many of the activities that all businesses engage that in a digital work environment involve reproduction and communication of copyright information.”

ACC Australia will work with the Copyright Agency to deliver a series of copyright webinars, with the first scheduled in May as part of the In-house Counsel Month. Delegates to the 2022 ACC Australia National Conference and Awards will have the opportunity to learn more about copyright and its application in the legal profession. An informative resource looking at Copyright Governance for In-House Counsel is available on ACC Australia’s website for all members here.

As part of the partnership, ACC Australia members will be entitled to a 10% discount on new copyright licence annual fees.
