Seven 1 x day passes to giveaway for Byron Writers Festival

August 4, 2022

Copyright Agency’s Cultural Fund is supporting three sessions at this year’s Byron Writers Festival.

Josephine Johnston, CEO of the Copyright Agency, will attend the festival to introduce our 2021 Author Fellow Robert Drewe. Drewe will be talking about his new novel Nimblefoot with journalist, novelist and media trainer Russell Eldridge (10:15am on Friday 26 August).

Nicola Evans, Head of the Cultural Fund and Reading Australia, will also attend in support of ‘The Book Review as Cultural Commentary’ (1:45pm on Friday 26 August). This session will feature writer Declan Fry, poet Sarah Holland-Batt and journalist and reviewer Susan Wyndham, with writer and podcast host Nicole Abadee serving as chair.

The third Cultural Fund-supported session is ‘Stories as Solace’ at 1:45pm on Saturday 27 August. It will be chaired by the founder of Byron Writers Festival, Chris Hanley, who will be in conversation with journalist and broadcaster Jennifer Byrne and acclaimed writer Arnold Zable.

The theme of this year’s festival is ‘Radical Hope’, which aims to uplift and inspire festival goers to meet the challenges of the world head-on. Celebrate the power of stories to connect us when Australia’s largest literary celebration returns this 26–28 August.
