Copyright Agency Board supports the Voice to Parliament

Copyright Agency serves its members from the land of the Gadigal. We pay respect to all Elders past and present, and we recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders as Australia’s original and continuous storytellers and artists.

The Copyright Agency Board acknowledges the invitation extended to all of us in the Uluru Statement from the Heart, and supports the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice to Parliament. It is an overdue step towards recognition, and an important step toward reconciliation. The Voice will have the position and potential to impact outcomes for Indigenous people and communities, fostering an environment where First Nations art and writing can grow and flourish.

We acknowledge that amongst our 40,000 members there will be a range of views. We believe in and support respectful engagement about the referendum, as a critical point in the relationship between Australia and our First Nations people.
