Cultural Fund grants are now open

The Copyright Agency’s Cultural Fund is pleased to announce our new Publishing Industry Career Development Grants. Offering professional development and career-enhancing opportunities, these grants are open to mid-career Australian publishing professionals working in trade and educational publishing; Australian literary agents; and editors working at literary magazines and journals.

Four grants of up to $5,000 will be available each year. Applications are now open, closing 1pm (AEST) Monday 30 March 2020.

Cultural Fund changes for 2020

This year we have made some changes to our Grants and Fellowships for individuals:

  • The closing dates for our Fellowships have been brought forward and now close in June, with applicants advised in September. This applies to the Author Fellowship, Fellowship for Non-Fiction Writing and Fellowship for a Visual Artist.
  • Create Grants will now close in September, with applicants being notified in November.
  • Eligibility requirements have changed; please refer to our website for more information.

All current Cultural Fund grants close at 1pm (AEST).

30 March Publishing Industry Career Development Grants For individuals working in the Australian publishing industry with grants for professional development, leadership, and career enhancing opportunities and projects.
20 April Reading Australia Fellowship for Teachers of English and Literacy For teachers and teacher librarians  who have a minimum of five years teaching experience.
29 June Author Fellowship For an established author to create a new work.
29 June Fellowship for Non-Fiction Writing For an author with a minimum of two books published to create a new work of literary  non-fiction writing.
29 June Fellowship for a Visual Artist For an established visual artist to develop and create new work.
14 September Create Grants For the creation and development of new work for mid-career and established writers and visual artists

The Copyright Agency’s Cultural Fund will not offer Ignite Grants or Publisher Fellowships in 2020. This may change in future years. If you have any questions about any of our grants, please contact the Cultural Fund.
